The Gold Coast Wax Museum is Australia's largest museum of its kind, featuring more than 110 life-size wax effigies, copies of the British Crown Jewels and dioramas of Australian history. The Wax Museum is visited by many thousands of people each year who marvel at the amazing realism of the life-size figures in authentic costumes.
This is your invitation to meet many important people on the Queensland Gold Coast. Come face to face with former P.M. John Howard, Kylie Minogue, former P.M. Bob Hawke, President Barack Obama, PP John F. Kennedy, Adolph Hitler, members of the Royal Family, and many others whose lives have all left an indelible mark on our world. The Gold Coast Wax Museum is listed as a Great Wax Museum of the World. The figures have been crafted by leading overseas sculptors to international standards, equal in quality to the world's best, as seen in Europe, the United Kingdom, and U.S.A.
The incredibly intricate detail includes hair applied one strand at a time, requiring many working hours for one head, and the eyes so anatomically real that they seem to follow the viewer around. This painstaking work takes two and half years, with each figure valued at $60,000.
In the Famous People World in Wax Section, wander through at your leisure and spend as long as you like viewing the people who have been authentically reproduced. Information cards are located alongside each figure.

Don't go there.... waste of money
Unhappy customer from vic - 11/07/2011 17:28:05
Wax Museum's House of Horrors is not suitable for young children. We weren't warned. Front of Desk chap was very rude - just grabbed our money, never bothered to explain that it might not be suitable for young children. He also constantly nagged us to keep an eye on our children - "don't let them get out of control". Our kids were far to frightened to be running around the exhibit. He needs a lesson in customer service.
All the exhibits are either behind bars or glass making it near impossible to photograph! And there are no public toilets!!! Hard to believe that such a business passed council building permits without incorporating public toilets!!
Madame Tussuad's in London and Los Angeles is way better - don't waste your money
